Calculate the molecular mass of gas x which difficses four times as fast as gas y which diffuses twice as fast as another gas Z. Molecular mass of gas Z is 128.​

Solution:

Since, Ry is 2Rz

Ry/Rz = 2Rz/Rz = √128/My

4Ry = 128/4 = 32

Rx = 4Ry

Rx/Ry = 4Ry/Ry

= √32/Mx

Hence, Molecular mass of gas X, Mx = 2
