Explanation:

(i) Molar mass of water (H

2

O) =2×atomic mass of hydrogen +atomic mass of oxygen

Molar mass of water=2(1g/mol)+16g/mol=18g/mol

(ii) Molar mas of CO

2

=atomic mass of carbon+2×atomic mass of oxygen

Molar mass of CO

2

=12g/mol+2(16g/mol)=44g/mol

(iii) Molar mass of methane =atomic mass of carbon+4×atomic mass of hydrogen

Molar mass of methane=12g/mol+4(1g/mol)=16g/mol
