Explanation:

 To find the molar mass, simply add up the molar mass of each atom in the molecule. Having a periodic table handy really helps! Molar mass is always in units of grams/mole.  

CH3COOH  

2 C = 2(12.01)  

4 H = 4(1.008)  

2 O = 2(16.00)  

Total = 60.05 g/mol  

DON'T forget ! When I added up the numbers for CH3COOH originally I got 60.052, but according to the rules of sig figs when adding numbers together we need to cut it off after the second spot after the decimal place.  

C6H12O6  

6 C = 6(12.01)  

12 H = 12(1.008)  

6 O = 6(16.00)  

Total = 180.16 g/mol
