✔️Momentum  = Mass × Velocity

✔️Momentum = 0.3 kg × 18000m/3600s

✔️Momentum = 0.3 kg × 5 m/s

✔️Momentum = 1.5 kg × m/s

LINEAR MOMENTUM IS 1.5 kg m/s

Given:

  • Mass = 300 g = 0.3 kg
  • Speed = 18 km/hr

To find:

  • Momentum of car ?

Calculation:

Let's convert the speed unit from km/hr to m/s:

18 \: km/hr = 18 \times  \dfrac{1000 \: m}{3600 \: sec}  = 5 \: m/sec

Now, linear momentum is a vector quantity whose magnitude is represented by the product of the mass and velocity of the object.

P = m \times v

 \implies P = 0.3 \times 5

 \implies P =1.5 \: kg \: m/sec

So, the linear momentum is 1.5 kg m/s
