Answer:

CO2 also called carbon dioxide. It is the gas that humans breathe out but then the plants take in during photosynthesis for the preparation of its food that gets stored in it.

6CO2 + 12H20 ———→ C6H12O6 + 6H2O.

The H20 is released in the form of vapour due to transpiration from the leaves.

CO2 is a planar molecule with a structure 0=C=0 with the central angle 180 degrees.

Now, coming to the question.

Avagadro number of molecules are present in 1 mole of a substance.

Avagadro number = 6.023*10^23.

According to the question,

the number of moles of CO2 has to be calculated.

Number of moles = Given the mass of CO2 / Molecular weight of CO2

The molecular weight of CO2 = 44g/mol and the given mass = 8.8g

Number of moles of C02 = 8.8/44 = 0.2 mole

1 mole - 6.023*10^23 molecules

0.2 mole - ‘x’ molecules

x = 6.023*10^23*0.2

x = 1.2046*10^23 molecules.

Thus, the number of molecules in 8.8g of CO2 (carbon dioxide) is 1.2046*10^23 molecules.

Please be careful while calculating the molecular weight and the number of moles as it will affect the entire calculations.

Thank you for providing me with this opportunity to help you. Hope this answer helps in your conceptual understanding in the mole concept.
