Answer:

W = 160 g

M = 256 g

No. of molecules = W/M = 160/256 = 0.625 moles

Given:-

  • \sf{S_8\:molecule\:is\:given\:to\:us.}
  • \sf{Given\:mass\:of\: sulphur\:is\:160g.}

To Find:-

  • \sf{The \:number \:of \:sulphur\: molecules.}

Formula Used:-

Number of moles can be calculated using :-

\large{\underline{\boxed{\red{\tt{ \leadsto n =\dfrac{Given\:mass}{Molecular\:mass}}}}}}

Answer:-

We know that mass of 1 sulphur is 32g .

So mass of 8 sulphur atoms would be 8×32g = 256g .

And given mass is 160 g .

So , number of moles = Given mass / Molecular mass.

= 160g / 256 g = 0.625 moles .

Hence number of Molecules = No. of moles × \sf{N_A} , where \sf{N_A} is Avogrado's Number.

= 0.625 × 6.022× 10²³.

= 3.76 × 10²³ molecules .

Hence the number of molecules is 3.76 × 10²³ .
