We have to calculate the number of moles of each element in 10 moles of Mg_2P_2O_7.10H_2O

solution : if n moles of a compound in the form of A_xB_yC_z is given,

then no of moles of A atoms = n × x

no of moles of B atoms = n × y

no of moles of C atoms = n × z

the same application, we should apply here.

no of moles of Mg atoms = 10 × 2 = 20

no of moles of P atoms = 10 × 2 = 20

no of moles of O atoms = 10 × 7 + 10 × (10 × 1) = 70 + 100 = 170

no of moles of H atoms = 10 × (10 × 2) = 200
