hi frnd,

let x be the oxidation number of hydrogen in h2o2

we know that the oxidation number of oxygen is -1

so, 2x+2(-1)=0

x=1

so the oxidation of hydrogen in hydrogen peroxide is 1

I believe this will help you:)

let x be the oxidation number of hydrogen in H2O2

the oxidation number of oxygen is 2- but in peroxides it is 1-

the overall charge is zero

2x 2(-1) =0

2x - 2=0

2x = 2

x=1

therefore the oxidation state of hydrogen in H2O2  is +1
