Absorbance is given by the formula

a = 2 - log_{10}(t)

where t = % of radiation transmitted.

given that A = 2

2 = 2 - log_{10}(t) \\ \\ \Rightarrow log_{10}(t) = 2 - 2

 \Rightarrow log_{10}(t) = 0 \\ \\ \Rightarrow t = {10}^{0} \\ \\ \Rightarrow t = 1

So percentage of radiation transmitted= 1%

percentage of radiation absorbed= 100 - 1 = 99%
