Calculate the relative velocity of two cars travelling is same direction when a car has velocity of 40m/s and the other has 45m/s.

Velocity of 1st car = V₁ = 40 m/s

Velocity of 2nd car = V₂ = 45 m/s

Relative velocity = V₁₂ = -V₂₁

V₁₂ = V₁ - V₂

      = 40 - 45 = -5 m/s

V₂₁ = V₂ - V₁

     = 45 - 40 = 5 m/s
