The rms velocity is 483.5 ms⁻¹

The given temperature is, T= 27° C

Temperature in Kelvin = 273 + 27 = 300K

Given that, atomic mass of oxygen = 16

∴ Molecular weight of oxygen, <br> M = 2 × 16 = 32

⇒ R = 8.31 J mol⁻¹ K⁻¹

So, the rms velocity, C =  \sqrt{\frac{3RT}{M} }

                                      =  \sqrt{\frac{3 * 8.31 * 300}{32} }

                                       = 483.5ms
