50^2 + x^2 = 100^2

x^2 =10000-2500= 7500

x =

 \sqrt{3}  \times 50

Given that,

Resultant velocity, v = 100 km/h

One of the component of velocity, v_1=50\ km/h

To find,

The other rectangular component.

Solution,

The resultant of velocity of rectangular component is given by :

v=\sqrt{v_1^2+v_2^2}

v_2 is other component

100=\sqrt{50^2+v_2^2}

On squaring,

10000=2500+v_2^2\\\\v_2=86.6\ km/s

So, the other component of velocity is 86.6 km/h.
