The sunset angle and day length are -80.23 degree and 10.7 hours respectively.

Solution,

1. Sunset hour angle is find out by using following formula :

ω(ss) = - cos^{-1}(-tanδ*tanφ)

  • Here δ is angle of declination and φ is Latitude angle.
  • δ is given by,

δ = 23.45 sin (\frac{360}{365} (284 + n)) , where n is number of days. Here n = 45 days.

Therefore, δ = -13.61 degree

Now, ω(ss) = - cos^{-1}(-tan δ * tan φ)

ω(ss) = -80.23 degree

2. Day length can be find out by using following formula :

T(d) = \frac{2}{15} cos^{-1}(-tan δ * tan φ)

On solving, T(d) = 10.7 hours.

Hence, the sunset angle and day length are -80.23 degree and 10.7 hours respectively.
