Report on Dengue Awareness Camp held on 01st February 2019.
Venue: Mahadevi Vidya Mandir, Crosscut Road, Jhansi.
Purpose: To spread Awareness about dengue infection and how to prevent the infection to proliferate.
What is Dengue?
It is a mosquito-borne infection also known as break-bone fever. It is spread by Aedes mosquitoes and causes flu. The infection is mainly caused by four types of viruses.
Important Points Covered:
Symptoms:
• High Fever which appears within 7 days after being transmitted by the mosquito which carries the virus.
• Muscle & Joint ache
• Body rashes
• Eye pain
• Nausea & Vomiting
Above can disappear within a week if Dengue treated on time. The Fatal Fever such as DHF & DSS requires hospitalization. Such fever shows a sign of internal bleeding.
Treatment:
• Avoid Dehydration
• Use of Painkillers
• Avoid Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as it may cause internal bleeding.
• If the patient is serious, hospitalize at the earliest.
The Dengue prevention camp received several appreciations as it helped people to know the infection in a better way. We also suggested various preventive methods in details such as the use of mosquito repellent, Mosquito nets or traps, Install door and window nets and keep the surrounding clean especially clean the stagnant water.
