hi there,
W=Fs
F=ma=500*10(g=10,a=-10)
=-5000
work =5000*10=-50000 joule
i hope this helps u nd pls smash the thanks button

we know that work done = f * s
we don't know the force here
∴ F = ma
= 500 * a
here a = g and the a is " negative "
⇒ a = - 10
F = ma
= 500 * - 10
= - 5000
∴ work done = f * s
= - 5000 * 10
= - 50000
∴ the work done = 50000 in upwards direction or even - 50000
note : I've used the word upward direction to reply the negative symbol
