The torque produced is τ = 312.5 N-m

Explanation:

Radius of gyration "k" = 50 cm = 0.5 m

Mass "m" = 10 kg

Angular acceleration "α" = 25 r.p.s

As moment of inertia is given by:

I= m k^2  = 50 x (0.5)2    =   0.25 x 50  = 12.5 kg-m^2

Now apply the formula τ = I x α

Torque  τ = I x α

Torque  τ = 12.5  x 25

Torque  τ = 312.5 N-m

Hence the torque produced is τ = 312.5 N-m
