Given,

V=6V

I=0.4A

V=I×R

6=0.4×R

R=15ohm

Therefore,Total resistance in Series Circuit=15ohm

Again,Total resistance in parallel circuit,

 \frac{1}{r1}  +  \frac{1}{r2}  +  \frac{1}{r3}  =  \frac{1}{r}  \\  =  >  \frac{1}{12}  +  \frac{1}{6}  +  \frac{1}{3}  =  \frac{1}{r}   \\   =  >  \frac{7}{12}  =  \frac{1}{r}  \\  =  > r =  \frac{12}{7} ohm

Therefore,

Total resistance(R) in whole circuit= 15+12/7=117/7ohm

Therefore,

Resistance in series=r1+r2+r3.....

R=2+12/7+x

117/7=26/7+×

x=91/7ohm
