Given:

Normality of solution = 0.1N

Volume of the solution = 250mL = 0.25L

To find:

Weight of NaCl present in solution = ?

Formula to be used:

Mass of the substance = Normality×Equivalent weight×Volume in liters

Calculation:

Equivalent weight of NaCl = Equivalent weight of sodium + Equivalent weight of chlorine

Equivalent weight of NaCl = 23.0+35.5 = 25.5 g

Thus substituting the values in the following formula, it gives

Mass of the substance = Normality×Equivalent weight×Volume in liters

Mass of the substance = 0.1×58.5×0.25

Mass of the substance = 1.4625g

Conclusion:

The weight of NaCl present in 250 ml of 0.1 N solution is 1.4625g.
