Given :

Mass of suitcase = 25kg

Distance travelled = 62m

Acc. due to gravity = 9.8m/s²

To Find :

We have to find work done by person.

Solution :

Work done is defined as the product of force and acceleration.

Mathematically, W = F d

  • It is a scalar quantity having only magnitude.
  • SI unit : J (joule)
  • Dimension formula : [M¹L²T‾²]

In this case, only gravitational force is acting on the suitcase which is equal to mg.

By substituting the given values;

➠ W = F d

➠ W = (mg) × d

➠ W = 25 × 9.8 × 62

➠ W = 15190

W = 15.2 kJ
