Given that,

Number of moles = 3

Pressure = 4 bar

Temperature = 298 K

We need to calculate the work done in a reversible expansion

Using formula of work done

W=-nRT\ln(\dfrac{P_{2}}{P_{1}})

Where, n = number of moles

R = gas constant

T = temperature

P₁ = Initial pressure

P₂ =Final pressure

Put the value into the formula

W=-3\times8.314\times298\ln(\dfrac{1}{4})

W=10304\ J

Hence, The work done in a reversible expansion is 10304 J.

(B) is correct option.
