We have,

  • Total oscillations = 50
  • Total time taken = 100 sec

Now, we know that the formula for time period is;

  • Time period = Time taken/No. of oscillations

= Time period = 100/50

= Time period = 2 sec

Also, the formula for frequency is;

  • Frequency = Total oscillations/Time taken

= Frequency = 50/100

= Frequency = 0.5 Hz

Therefore, the time period is 2 sec and frequency is 0.5z of the pendulum.

Given :  Pendulum 50 complete cycle of to and fro motion in 100 seconds.

To Find :  time period and the frequency of pendulum

Solution:

time period of the pendulum is to and fro time from one extreme position to other extreme position

Pendulum complete  50 cycle of to and fro motion in 100 seconds.

=> 1 cycle is completed in 100/50 secs

=> 1 cycle is completed in 2 secs

Hence  time period  of pendulum  = 2 sec

Frequency is the number of cycles completed in 1 sec

Cycles completed in 2 secs  = 1

=> cycles completed in 1 sec = 1/2

=> frequency of pendulum = 0.5  Hz

time period  of pendulum  = 2 sec

frequency of pendulum = 0.5  Hz
