As camphor is a sublime substance it can disappear through the process of sublimation

There are mainly three states of matter,

1. Solid

2. Liquid

3. Gas.

These ‘physical state’ of matter can interconvert to each other which the change in temperature and pressure easily. Like as we increase temperature, solid changes to liquid to gas. There are some solids which change to gas state without changing to liquid.

This conversion of “solid to gas” is called as sublimation and such solids are called as sublime solids. Here Camphor is also a sublime solid therefore camphor disappears without having any residue.
