When something is at rest its velocity is zero. The final and initial velocity are both 0.
a = (v - u)÷ t
a = (0 - 0)÷ t
a = 0 ÷ t
= 0
So a body cannot gave acceleration at rest
Here in the equation :
a is acceleration
v is final velocity
u is initial velocity
t is time
Time can be a variable in this case but the answer will be constant.
