Can a charged particle be accelerated by a magnetic field. Can its speed be increased?

By changes the direction of velocity the magnetic field accelerates the charged particle i.e The magnetic field doesn't change the speed of the charged particle but accelerated by magnetic field.

The reason is that the magnetic field doesn’t affect the speed is because the magnetic field applies a force perpendicular to the velocity. Hence, the force can’t do work on the particle.

As a result, the particle can’t change its kinetic energy. So it can not change the speed.
