Difference between Atom and molecules:-

Atoms :- It is the smallest particle of an element which can not exist independently in nature but take part in reaction.

Atom is basically not stable in nature except inert gases.

Molecule :- A molecule is a discrete unit made when two or more atoms join together of same element or different elements.

It is stable in nature and doesn't take part in reaction but exist independently in nature.

This is a major difference between Atom and molecules then how we can say that they are same for a common or different elements.
