Can a particle be accelerated
(i)if its speed is constant

Yes ,a particle can be accelerated when it is moving with constant speed.

When a point object is moving on a horizontal circular path with a constant speed,the direction of its velocity vector at an instant is changing with time.It means in a uniform circular motion velocity vector of the object is changing with time.

b) No, if a body is travelling with constant velocity then it can not acclerate.

Because Acceleration = Change in velocity / time . As change in velocity is zero ,so acceleration is also zero.
