Hey! mate, GOOD EVENING☺

  1. The mountain is an elevated, pointed structure whereas a plateau is an elevated area with a flat top. A plateau is generally lower in height thanmountain, though there are plateaushigher than some mountains.
  2. Mountainsplay a significant role in providing water and food supply to the millions of people in the world.
  3. Volcanic mountains are formed by volcanoes.Volcanic Mountains are formed when molten rock (magma) deep within the earth, erupts, and piles upon the surface. Magna is called lava when it breaks through the earth's crust. When the ash and lava cools, it builds a cone of rock.
  4. Different types of plains -
  • Structural plains: relatively undisturbed horizontal surfaces of the earth.
  • Erosional plains that have been leveled by various agents of denudation such as running water, rivers.

5. Many plateaus form as magma deep inside the Earth pushes toward the surface but fails to break through the crust. Instead, the magma lifts up the large, flat, impenetrable rock above it.

6. Plateaus represent the ancient shield of earth crust. This ancient shield is formed due to volcanic eruptions which contains solidified magma. Magma is rich in mineral reserves which are important in present day. Hence, plateaus are rich in mineraldeposits.
