Can a triangle and parallelogram have the same area

No, because a triangle is comprised of 3 sides while a parallelogram is a 4-sided shape formed by two pairs of parallel lines which covers more area than triangle.
Checkout the formulas for more understanding.
Parallelogram=base*hieght
while triangles formula is
(base*hieght)/2
dividing by 2 give us smaller area than parallelogram.
