Can air be compressed?

yes. air can be compressed as its particles are not closely packed...

Amns22: Take a bottle and make sure that it is closed. Note that, the air is still present in bottle.
Amns22: When you compress the bottle, it crumples. Thus, showing that air can be compressed. Do they same with a solid present in the bottle, like ice, the same won't happen.

air can be compressed as it is a mixture gases and particles in gases are not closely packed and have a lots of space in between them, so they can be compressed very easily.
