yes, if we apply an external force on moving car with constant speed it will accelerate.

Hey friend!

》First, let us know what is Acceleration.
Acceleration is a rate of change of velocity of an object with respect to time.

》 An object's acceleration is the net result of any object and all force acting on the object, as described by Newton's Second law.

》Yes, of course a body can accelerate, if it has uniform speed

Example :

》Now consider the Earth-Moon system, and assume the orbit of the moon around the Earth to take 27.32 days, without any deviations. If the moon is in circular orbit, the speed of the moon will be constant. But if the moon travels in a particular direction with the same speed, it will be travelling in a straight line, so we know with the same speed, it's changing direction, at each and every point. Acceleration points out that with a change in direction, there's an acceleration.

》 So yes, there can be an acceleration without the change in speed.

Hope it helps..!!
