Because acid is the compound which gives H+ ions in its aqueous state.
If in any compound, hydrogen atom is absent, then it cannot be counted as an acid.

yes here is a acid example BF3 it is a Lewis acid
but according to Arrhenius and Bronsted-lowry it is not a acid
but according to Arrhenius and Bronsted-lowry it is not a acid
