Hello,
Gas is a state of matter in which the components are completely loosed. They can easily move here and there.
There are two methods to liquefy gases.
The methods include :-
1) Decreasing the temperature - when the temperature is reduced the particles loose their energy and gets compact resulting in formation of liquid.
2)increasing pressure :- when the pressure is increased, then the particles of gas come closer and loose their compatibility to some extent. The particles then form the liquid state as they cannot move freely now due to the applied pressure.
