Generally for the proper sterilization of he wounds surgical spirit or alcohol is used .
Ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol is generally used for the general sterilization.

Commonly used antiseptic agents in hospitals are -
- spirit,
- phenol,
- savlon,
- iodine,
- hydrogen peroxide,
- dettol,
- betadine, etc.
● Spirit -
- 70% alcohol (mostly ethanol)
- used for disinfection of skin before injections, cleaning stitched wounds, skin operations, etc.
