a)The process depicts the absorption of water and minerals by the root hair cells.

b)The processes involved are:

->Endosmosis: movement of water from soil water to cell sap of root hair cell.

->Active transport: movement of mineral salts and ions into the root hair cell with the use of energy in the form of ATP against the gradient.

->Diffusion: Movement of water and minerals from higher to lower concentration inside the cells.

->Imbibition: Movement of water or solutions by surface attraction on the cellulose cell walls of the cells.

c) They are: Xylem and Phloem tissue.

d) A:conducts water and minerals from the roots to all the other parts of plant,

B: conducts food manufactured in the leaves in the form of mostly soluble sucrose upwards and downwards through the sieve tubes and sieve plates to all parts of the plant including the roots.

e)   E are the epidermal cells that form the epidermis of the surface of outer surface of the root. They cover the outer surface of the root and assist the absorption of water and minerals, when they give rise to the root hair cells they are known as trichoblasts and when they do not, they are known as atrichoblasts.

F are the cortical cells forming the cortex of the root, they lie between the epidermis and the endodermis of the root and are parenchymatous cells storing large amounts of starch. They conduct the water and minerals from the root hair cells to the inner parts of the root.
