civil disobedience movement and non cooperation movement had been launched just once.
#civil disobedience movement
on 6 April Gandhiji ceremonially violated the salt law at dandi by manufacturing salt by boiling water.
this is know to be the beginning of civil disobedience
in civil disobedience people not only refused to cooperate but they also break colonial laws
thousands of people around the country broke the salt law, by manufacturing it and demonstrated it in front of govt. factories
the civil disobedience was called off when violence spread. ghaffar khan was arrested and crowds broke into violence. when gandhiji was arrested people in sholapur destroyed govt. infrastructures.
peaceful satyaghrahis were attacked women and children were beaten and many were arrested.
# non cooperation movement
non cooperation movement was accepted with a compromise at nagpur session.it started on jan 1921.
in towns it started with participation in the cities. thousands of students left govt. controlled schools and colleges, headmasters and teachers resigned etc.
the elections were boycotted most of areas, except madras where the justice party sought to seek power through elections.
foreign good was boycotted, liquor shops were picketed and forgein cloth was burned in huge bonfires.
in different places non swaraj had it's different meanings and so the fights were against different things
in awadh the fight was against talukdars and landlords, in assam the plantation workers fight against the inland immigration act etc.
in feb 1992 the act came to end because gandhiji felt that the movement was turning violent in many places.
