answer is option 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

x/a cos theta + y/b sintheta = 1

squaring on both sides

x^2/a^2 cos^2 theta + y^2 / b^2 sin^2 theta + 2

xy/ab costheta sintheta = 1 .......(1)

similarly squaring the second equation we get

x^2/a^2 sin^2 theta + y^2/b^2 cos ^ theta + 2 xy/ab cos theta sintheta = 1 ......(2)

Adding both equations (1),(2) we get ,

x^2/a^2 ( cos^2 theta + sin^2 theta ) + y^2/b^2 ( sin^2 theta + cos^2 theta ) = 2 ....(3)

we know that sin^2 theta + cos ^ 2 theta = 1

the equation (3) will become ,

x^ 2 /a^2 + y^2 / b^2 = 2
