can anybody explain me Wat a prism is exactly...?! the definition in book is complicated!!

a prism is a solid figure whose two ends/bases are equal and parallel, and whose sides are parallelograms.

a prism is nothing but a solid figure having total 5 surface 2 triangular and 3 rectangular. do yoi understand what i wanted to tell?
i said 2 tri....and 3 rect..... that is enough if someone is interested in total surfaces he can add 2 and 3 himself
