Answer:

kinetic energy is only dependent on temperature

K = 3/2 RT

so the ans is B

if it is correct

mark it as brainlist

Tulsirani100: But K.E depends on the mass too
Tulsirani100: K.E =p^2/2m
shreyansh549: thats in mechanics , but we are dealing with the kinectic energy of gases
Tulsirani100: Okay! thanks
shreyansh549: see Vrms = √ 3RT /√M. BY applying ke =1/2 mv². u get 3/2RT
Tulsirani100: Thanks a bundle
shreyansh549: mark it as brainlist , so i move to the next rank
Tulsirani100: I have already marked
shreyansh549: thank you

average KE =√8RT/piM where M is atomic mass of given atom. So average KE is inversely proportional to atomic mass. So Hydrogen has more AvKE than Oxygen.

Tulsirani100: But correct option is b
rakesh58450: oh then some other concept is involved may be...but if thermodynamics this is 100% correct
shreyansh549: check out formula for V avg !! and K.E. u ll get the answer
rakesh58450: yaya
rakesh58450: silly mistake!
