Answer:

To make oxygen in the laboratory, hydrogen peroxide is poured into a conical flask containing some manganese(IV) oxide. The gas produced is collected in an upside-down gas jar filled with water.

Answer:

oxygen is normally produced by a simple method of electrolysis in which we dip one anode and cathode ( commonly known as electrodes ) in an electrolysis solution. ( in case of separation of oxygen and hydrogen from the water we take electrolysis solution as water+caustic soda or caustic potash).

Explanation:

Here we can take electrodes made up of platinum or titanium something resistant to corrosion i ) first, we mix caustic soda or caustic potash in water to make it more conducive and then pour it in a beaker.

ii ) then we will attach anode to the positive terminal of the battery and cathode to the negative terminal and dip it in water solution.

iii ) Then slowly we can see bubbles coming out of the water, this is oxygen and hydrogen separated from the water.

iv) this oxygen and hydrogen can be captured by placing some container over the cathode and anode.

v ) In big oxygen-producing industries, it is transferred to big containers from where it can be filled in oxygen cylinders.

Hydrogen is used as good fuel and oxygen for various purposes like medical use and welding etc and in producing oxygen in large quantity we do not separate oxygen from the air.

    Fun fact

By this simple process, we can settle on any planet where water is available as hydrogen and oxygen are also known as rocket fuels.
