Verb are simply the action words.
Eg. I wake up early in the morning.
In this example the word 'wake' represents an action this means this is a verb because it represents an action. Let's take another example

Eg.Shreyas is working on his project.
n this example the word 'working' represents an action this means this is a verb because it represents an action.

Now lets talk about 'Subject verb agreement'

Subject verb agreement simply means that if subject is plural then the verb should be plural and if subject is singular then the verb should be singular. However you should lay attention while identifying the subject because it is not necessary that the subject will be before the verb or after. There are few rules for subject verb agreement if you want them to then just text me.
