Acids :

→Ph value less than 7

→Dissociate into H+ ions

For example : HCl ⇒ H+ + Cl-

→Turns litmus paper from blue to red

→ Sour(khatta) in taste

Bases:

→Ph value more than 7

→Dissociate into OH+ ions

For example : NaOH ⇒ Na+ + OH-

→Turns litmus paper from red to blue

→ Bitter(kadva) in taste

Salts :

→Ph value close to 7

→Salts are the ionic compounds which are produced after the neutralization reaction between acid and base.

For example : NaOH + HCl ⇒ NaCl + H20

                                                where NaCl is salt.

→Litmus paper color remains same

→ Bitter(kadva) in taste
