In fish, the heart only has one atrium and one ventricle. The oxygen-depleted blood that returns from the body enters the atrium, and then the ventricle, and is then pumped out to the gills where the blood is oxygenated, and then it continues through the rest of the body.

On the next page, you will see that the arrangement of the circulation in the fish is based on a fine balance.

sowmiyayahoocom: why not when it goes in
Anonymous: because when the heart squeeze the blood move out of the heart
Anonymous: heart apply preassure due to which it move outward
sowmiyayahoocom: u understood my q wrongly
Anonymous: Fish have a single circulatory pattern, wherein the blood passes through the heart only once during each complete circuit. Oxygen-deprived blood from the body tissues comes to the heart, from where it is pumped to the gills. Gaseous exchange happens within the gills, and the oxygenated blood from the gills is circulated throughout the body.
