Take a regular glass slab place it into the sheet of paper and mark it edges

and the paper should be fix on the cardboard with the pins .

Now give the name as ABCD etc.

we know that when a ray of light travelling frm a rarer medium to a denser medium it bends towards the normal

Now

The ray of light coming out of a glass slab which bends towards the normal and i=45° so reflected ray would change some part

The perpendicular distance from the reflected ray and the emergent ray are known as a lateral displacement.

Hope u like my ans

Refraction through a rectangular glass slab and principle of reversibility of light: On entering the glass slab, it bends towards normal and travels along EF at an angle of refraction r.The refracted ray EF is incident on face SR at an angle of incidence r'.
