ex 2Mg+ O2→2MgO

Balancing of equation-
In this process we write number coefficients in front of formula to make the molecules/atoms of compounds equal.
Example -
NaOH+H2SO4-Na2SO4+H2O
(It is a double displacement reaction)
balanced equation-
2 NaOH + H2So4 = Na2So4 + 2 H2O
