the \: equation \: is \: 3(x)^{2}  +  \: 8x  \:  - 2 = 0

substitute x value as - 8

= 3(64)-64-2

=128-2=124 not equal to 0

Because 3(-8) square +8(-8)+2 is not equal to zero
