Can anyone help me with this question along with explanation:

200g of ice at 0 degree Celsius converts to water at 0 degree Celsius in 1 minute when heat is supplied to it at constant rate. In how much time 200g of water at 0 degree Celsius will change to 20 degree Celsius? Specific Latent heat of ice is 336 J/g.

Answer:

Mass(m) = 200 gm

= 2/10 kg

Time(t) = 60 sec

Latent heat of fusion(L) = 336 * 10³ J/kg

Specific heat capacity (c) = 4200 J/kg.K

Heat gained = m * L

= 2/10 * 336 * 10³

= 67200 J

Work done = Energy consumed

Work done = 67200 J

Power = Work/Time

= 67200/60

= 1120 J/s

Heat required = m * c * ∆t

= 2/10 * 4200 * (20-0)

= 16800 J

Work done = Energy consumed

Work done = 16800 J

Time = Work/Power

= 16800/1120

= 15 sec..
