mean =  \frac{sum \: of \: observatoins}{number \: of \: observations}



6 =  \frac{4 + 5 + 8 + p + 7 +  6}{6}


6×6 = 4+5+8+7+6+p

36= 30+p

36-30=p

6=p

Option (a) is correct.
