Dark matter produces an attractive force (gravity), whiledark energy produces a repulsive force (antigravity). Together, they make up 96 percent of the universe—and we can't see either. Astronomers know dark matterexists because visible matterdoesn't have enough gravitational muster to hold galaxies together.

Dark Matter=> non-luminous material which is postulated to exist in space.

Dark Energy=> It is theoretical form of energy postulated to act in opposition to gravity and to occupy the entire universe.
