Q#2.

POLAR COVALENT COMPOUND

polar covalent compounds are those compounds that are formed by unequal shairing of electrons between elements.

FOR EXAMPLE:

⇒H2O;  H⁻O⁻H

in this molecule O shares two electrons and H shares 1 electron.

⇒HCl;  H⁻Cl

in this molecule Cl molecule is more electronegative than hydrogen, therefore do not share its electron with hydrogen completely. hence cl develope partial negative charge and hydrogen develope partial positive charge.

NON-POLAR COVALENT COMPOUNDS:

non polar covalent compounds are those compounds which are formed by equal shairing of electrons.

FOR EXAMPLE:

⇒H2          H⁻H

⇒Cl2           Cl⁻Cl

Q#1:

⇒HCl;  H⁻Cl

in this molecule Cl molecule is more electronegative than hydrogen, therefore do not share its electron with hydrogen completely. hence cl develope partial negative charge and hydrogen develope partial positive charge.
