can anyone tell me the answer for - prove that 1/2-(minus)root5 is irrational no.

Its simple bro....root 5 is an irrational.as we know it.....
Then if we sub.,add,etc...anything to an irrational...it becomes an irrational...☺

Hey friend !

To prove :-
1/2 - √5 is irrational


Let us assume that 1/2 - √5 is rational .

Let ,

1/2 - √5 = r , where r is rational

1/2 - r = √5

Here , we can see that LHS is purely rational , whereas on the other hand , RHS is irrational.
This leads to a contradiction.
Hence ,
our assumption was wrong.
Therefore ,1/2 - √5 is irrational
